That's what I tell my pupils so we focus in mental pictures when writing. Don Quixote charging into the windmills is a perfect example of this. Visual arts have always played second fiddle to literature, even the visuals themselves are best from text because they form in the mind of the reader who brings their past experiences and especially their soul into it.

Video is still a second class citizen on the internet due to needing 10,000 times the amount of storage space of a video. Apps like Insta and tik tok are obviously 100% about video now but there is no web based video platform for stuff like that.

Also YouTube is nothing like tik tok, it’s long form tv show style content.

Sites like Vimeo are absolute ghost towns, Flickr allows video but nobody uses it. Like if you take a video clip on your dslr or mirrorless where the fuck are you going to put it?

Photography isn't truth though. It's as persuasive to the naive as truth would be, and cinema more so, but that's deception potential not truthfulness. It's perceived as truth because it's easy to believe one's eyes.
