APSC is just as good as Full frame if you put in the effort

See if there was a proper size and price difference between the sensors we could talk, but you might as well pay for full frame because it's so close to the smaller sizes anyway

It's paradoxical matter.
crop sensor has became better and better due technical improvement, and because of the improvement you really don't have to bring a camera. you can take quite a reasonable picture with your smartphone.

FF and crop, smaller sensor cameras budget is roughly in the same range(including lenses).
That means if you want extra gadget for solely photo or video than you want to get better tool as much as possible.

In today's camera market

this statement is literally paradoxically ambivalent. it is true and it is also anachronistic.

In the past it had to be done more technical improvement, in today it just out dated.
Finding a particular reason to get less than ff is quite difficult for the people who willing to buy a camera with a quite a fortune and carrying around that shit.

I guess there is a case to pick a apsc camera which is

And fuji probably has set their mind to lead their apsc line as i just said "small, larpable, looking good cameras" and put their more effort into GFX and cinema (not sure). they wouldn't make xpro4 which has been at the core of X system, instead they'll push x100vi because it's their best troll camera.

I will always hate Fuji for solidifying that “medium format” is a few mm bigger than full frame. Now if anyone else tries to make a digital mf outside of the high end professional stuff, they’ll either use the same size or make it a bit bigger and call it mf. It should have been minimum 645 size and people should have spat in their faces over this plus sized ff camera.

Its still noticeably better than FF. Even the gfx50 was sharper, although less sensitive to light. The gfx100 is much, much better in every aspect of IQ compared to the z7ii, r5, and a7rv.

Sensor size is just that powerful.

For once it's not Fuji's fault, everyone else was scamming people on the premise 44x33 was medium format. Even my beloved Pentax. And they dared call the camera 645. I guess the mount kind of justifies it but it still never sat well with me.

I'm not rich enough to care but I think Hasselblad did the same with some of its earliest digital "medium format" cameras. the pentax 645D was just the first "affordable" digital "medium format" and that made many more people care.
ken rockwell is right: I want a real, full-frame medium format digital back for a contax 645. phase one has them for their mamiya bodies
