Are Street Photographers Hacks?

No.4285937 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I feel like despite their insistence that the big city is a mystical place of wonder where anything can happen and it's so full of life, they only produce the same 5 images over and over again?

>lone person walking through a crosswalk
>close up portrait of an ugly person making an ugly face
>people sitting on a subway
>person in doorway
>someone sitting in a cafe, through a window

All of which is poorly composed. Why don't they capture anything interesting and exciting to at least justify the bad composure. It feels like they are all just copying popular photos from the 1960s and refuse to innovate on the genre (landscape photographers have the same problem). Why can't they think for themselves? Why don't they take photos of all the supposedly interesting things going on? Why do they pass by those things in favor of stupid shit like a person with a brightly colored umbrella?

Explain this.
