To date I think the best thing Panasonic has going for it regarding cameras is all of the Paramore concerts recorded by someone in a crowd with their Lumix camera from 2018. His shit was deleted off YouTube since then but everyone was impressed in comments with the quality and thought it was professional grade or similar to it. Meanwhile it was just a MFT camera lmao. GX85 if I remember, or GX80. One of the two for sure. I read comments and considered buying one.
Idk if they make good cameras for stills but their video capabilities are pretty field proven IMO.
Even compressed twice and downloaded from YT then reuploaded by some Brazilian channels after the original one got banned they still look pretty decent.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8khiJ6T_4rgpicrel is a screencap same concert same vid from a yt rip from the original uploads by the OG channel.
I downloaded some of them as they seemed too good for this world and I anticipated them being deleted but am still sad that it happened, as I can't link to them anymore. This shit was too based for this world.
If you scrutinize the screenshot it might not be all that impressive vs still quality but in motion at 30fps these have actually been the best fan captured concert videos I've ever seen in my life.
The original channel was John Mann.
Had concerts from
June 20, 2018
June 17, 2018
and a Parahoy (cruise ship) show at an unknown date with at least one song ("Be Alone") but idk much more. Maybe they're archived on
archive.org somehow or something.
If there's any chance that this motherfucker is lurking this thread I'd like to say thanks to him and that this work hasn't been forgotten and has been appreciated.
Panasonic definitely does video pretty well. I'd question still quality but even with a few focusing issues during concerts (it isn't pro, after all so is forgivable) I think their shit is quite good for recording videos and audio.
