After pranking us twice, Ricoh finally just released the all new Ricoh GRIII HDF and GRIIIx HDF. What do you think about it? Is it the X100VI killer? Does it mean we have to wait another 5 years for a Ricoh GR IV?

Kinda been thinking about a IIIx and this looks like a cool version with some gimmicky horseshit filters built-in. I guess it's appealing simply because I do not have a Ricoh GR yet.

But I do have a Pentax MX-1 and it's super fun. And it's got a better lens than the newer GRs.

I should just buy a full frame.

I would really love a new GXR / Ricoh with an M mount.

I have no problem with these new SKUs. Better than the otherwise identical models that have a different colorway.

What would the GR IV even have at this point?
The GR III/IX is already just as sharp and detailed as current release crop sensor cameras.
Thats the whole point of the camera, good iq in a little package.
Sure, you could slap on a 30 or 40 mp sensor, but that wouldn't really make much of a difference.

Seems like what most people want is a x100 style camera that somehow is still as small as a gr and doesn't cost 5k, which is never gonna happen, and that wouldnt be a GR anyways.

Here is my wishlist:

>Get rid of video, it's pointless
>Weather sealing, dust proof/resistance
>Sturdier buttons/dials
>Remove mic holes

And that's it. Keep the 24mp, ibis, 28mm FL and even shitty battery life, you'll have an instant winner from me, easily.

Sorry, it’s just better quality glass than what the GR III/x has. Not here to start a fight and think the GR III series is cool but cmon man don’t insult someone and not expect a reply.

Keep buying new cameras instead of old cameras tho. Better if the used market doesn't get more inflated than it already is.
