>>4299852Yes, it will take pictures, it will likely have uncorrected optical aberrations that you will not notice at all, brush off as character, or have to take into account. Things you should expect:
Soft corners wide open. You focus on subject, everything else can fuck off and be blurry. If you want a consistent field, it will likely sharpen up by f/5.6~8.
Field curvature. Same story, just focus on subject, if you want ***scape, stop down to f/5.6-8.
Focus shift. Would cause misery and suffering on SLR, but you focus stopped down anyway so why would you care.
Chromatic aberrations. If you have a backlit tree without leaves, wires, or literally anything that is very contrasty and slightly out of focus, it will have color fringing. That may also mean color fringing in the bokeh transition right next to subject. Own it as character, it's not going away.
It will likely have contrast go way down wide open when you are close to minimum focus distance. Again, want to be close, stop down.
