If you're not buying a DSLR you're unironically paying more for inferior tech because you were dazzled by gimmicky bullshit you will never actually use

DSLR benefits:
>OVF has an infinite refresh rate and resolution
>Has an actual depth of field preview so you can tell exactly what will be in focus, most mirrorless cameras stop after ~f/5.6
>off sensor phase detect leading to superior image quality
>larger, deeper grips
>more buttons
>lenses are mechanical focus
>glass has focus distance markings making it possible to get your shot in focus without even looking through the ovf
>manual primes are extremely compact
>have a built-in mirrorless mode anyway allowing for the only two real benefits of mirrorless, those being focus peaking and focus punch-in
>batteries last 2x-5x longer
>often have built in flash
>simple and well organized menu systems
>reliable weather sealing is the norm
>companies aren't ripping you off with paid firmware updates for features they purposefully left out during development
>almost instant start up times

But I will admit they have downsides such as:
>metering is slightly worse
>harder to know what long exposures will look like

This is just another instance of consumers being tricked into buying inferior tech just like Plasma TVs and LCDs. Plasma tvs were superior in every single performance metric but people bought lcds because they were cheaper and we have only just now started to recover from that loss in performance with OLEDS although Plasmas are still superior in many ways that simply cannot be reproduced by oled screens. Why are people so easy to trick?
