I've been thinking about how they could have made Saraya have a decent run as champion and how to generate a bunch of nuclear heat while she was at it. Heel champion can be good, but, as with everything in "rassling", it all comes back to presentation and booking. The key problem with Saraya's win was that it felt so phony. Nobody bought it and rather than see it as a homecoming win and a feel-good moment of this girl coming back and winning the big one, they saw it for what it was, a pathetic attempt for the hometown pop. This cheapened the belt and the division. As I've said, to be fair to Saraya, she has tried to put things together but has been no sold. I feel conflicted about this. Fundamentally it all comes down to underwhelming booking. I'll admit that things can go awry (like Hayter's injury) which can ruin plans, but there is enough talent in the roster to be able to salvage it. I hope Shida wins and I'm pulling for my girl, but I hope that the booking of the division improves first and foremost.
