They had to switch to fujo appeal to survive. And Tanahashi managed it and saved the company in the process.
It is pure wishful thinking to believe that they can go back to the way things were in the 90s (also funny you should say 'grow a chin' when it was Riki Choshu who booked NJPW's most popular period, maybe you should say grow a lariat instead).
