>>11893017Yes, which is why people were so angry when Shida won the belt, only to lose it for a shortsighted home-crowd pop. Hopefully, Shida can go on an Orange Cassidy-style run and make the belt worth something. But again, it all comes down to the booking and how it all goes forward. The division is at an interesting crossroads at the moment - Shida, a firm fan favourite and someone who can go, is the champ. Statlander, another firm fan favourite and someone who can go, is the TBS champion. Athena is doing solid work with Billie Starkz and is a excellent wrestler. Toni Storm is doing great character and gimmick work and there is some genuine intrigue and buzz about Skye Blue, Willow, and Kiera Hogan vs. Julia Hart. Bunny, Ford, Nyla, and Emi are all reliable and people who can easily work different programs with whoever, either in proper feuds or as filler. Lelya Hirsch is someone who could easily break out and we have Mone and Mariah May likely coming in.
The cards are set, and while it sucks there is no Hayter (cos I luvs me some Hayter) and Deeb and Riho are MIA, the roster is significantly stronger now than it has been in a long time. I've provided a list that breaks down the current AEW roster and where they should be going forward (and I stress that this is just my opinion). I can't speak for Mone or May as they've yet to arrive or make their mark. Of course, all of this will be moot if the booking going isn't strong and doesn't play the women's strengths.
