Once you're really dieting and losing weight, and you're hungry literally all the time, you'll forget about the couple fun size Snickers you had at work or the small bottle of orange juice. Most of the small stuff won't make a difference, but still, knowing is half the battle!
My best dieting advice is a 2 parter: 1) water weighs more than fat, so as you empty out fat cells and the fat is temporarily replaced with water, YOU WILL GAIN WEIGHT, but it's only temporary until your body flushes. 2) Weight loss looks more like stair steps than a straight line, especially if you're lifting weights and getting stronger. Don't push too hard, don't psych yourself out trying to do everything everywhere at once, find a good beginner/intermediate program and stick to it, don't start freelancing. It's better to tread water cardio/weights while losing bodyfat than it is to take 1,2,3 weeks off because of burnout from trying too hard.
