The chains rattled as Anna Jay pulled against them. Her efforts were futile as her wrists had been skillfully bound with rough rope and then wrapped in a heavy chain, but it felt better to do something. The events that preceded her waking up were a blur. She'd been getting ready for her match against Hikaru Shida, changing out of her clothes and into her ring gear, only for something hard to smack her in the back of her head and render her unconscious.
When she came to, she was strung up in one of the backrooms in the arena. Her ankles were also fastened by rope, but she was able to ease the pressure on her shoulders by shifting her weight onto her tip-toes. Anna Jay's attempts to call for help had yielded no results and she'd thought it better to conserve her voice, rather than render it into horse crackle.
