If you don't think showing the footage of a backstage dustup months after the fact, months after said guy was fired, was equally as petty as getting pissed at some guy talking shit on camera, well, I don't know what to tell you.
Fact is, AEW had the moral high ground before they showed this video. They had it firmly, indisputably. And they decided to give up that ground in a show of utter pettiness. That's fine, as long as the results are fucking bombastic but this was a total wet fart that does nothing but make everyone involved look bad.
