It's because there wasn't enough gatekeeping desu. Marks were allowed in the ring and this ended up poisoning the entire business. It drove millions of fans away because they don't want to watch a bunch of meek looking marks play-wrestle like they're in their parents' backyard. They want Hogans and Savages not Coles and Garganos. This new breed of mark wrestlers attracted the worst kind of fans. Weak, sniveling little jabronis who are just as pathetic as the pantywaists in the ring. The business needs a hard reset.

Tony loves storylines. Unfortunately his idea of a storyline is guys glancing at each other, repeating spots they did a year ago, or shit nobody cares about that happened in some other promotion. And when he goes for a BIG storyline it's always some overwrought nonsensical clusterfuck like The Devil. All he needed to do was let other people run AEW for him. Hire a few professional TV writers with good resumés. Hire Bischoff and Russo to run the show. Take his hands off the wheel. That's all he needed to do.
