That's mostly inertia, it's gone on so long Roman's beat everybody & the commentary endlessly say hes the GOAT, so of course they don't seem on his level, regardless of the bullshit finishes. Your argument is not far off "they shouldn't change it because it's gone on so long what will they do instead?"
I can see Cody as a main eventer. Do I see him as a 4 year ace of the company? Hell no (still don't see Roman as one either) but he doesn't need to be nor should anybody. My favourite era of wrestling was the mid 90s to early 00s when nobody was 'the guy' for more than 1-2 years tops, there were lots of guys to like & because nobody was the guy for eternity, it didn't feel like your favourite guy was unimportant if he wasn't champion, everybody rotated. Changing every month is too much but hot potatoing unironically does more for the roster/prop belt than this, makes it feel like there's a ton of top guys all at once & it's hard to hang onto any belt. But for that, you need guys people GENUINELY like.
Again that's my problem- so little of 'keep it on Roman' comes down to people genuinely liking it. It's either contrarianism against other fans, business simping for other people making money, or "but what do they do next it might be worse". Yeah everything might always be worse, doesn't mean you shouldn't do something in case it goes badly, I've wasted enough time making that mistake in my life. If you're not coming from genuine enjoyment & investment in what you're arguing for, you're killing the business. Legitimately much as I hate 90% of AEW's product, the few of their fans who engage sincerely rather than ironically & say "I want this guy on top because I find him the most entertaining", NOT "because hes nice" or "hes a GOOD WORKER" or "he works hard" or "he draws money". The people who go "I want this because I like it" are the fans that matter. Everyone else is counterproductive.

Being a booker isn't just about coming up with matches and storylines. It's about having the trust and respect, or at least fear, of the talent to get them to do what you want when you want them to, and mostly free of resistance.

I was a fan of Heyman's Smackdown run, too. But if you're axing a guy for being wrapped in scandal, you can't replace him with the ECW guy and have it wash.

It's big news for people who are into wrestling you struggling faggot, not for the vast majority of people that would visit an entertainment site. Wrestling is niche, which is why shit other than WWE doesn't get covered by anyone regularly than either people in business with a particular fed or literally bankrupt sports sites like SI. Entertainment sites are going to be making stories on Hollywood because that is the prime form of entertainment their readers are interested in. Not fucking wrestling. Wrestling sites and journalists should be breaking those seeing as how that should be what they're readers are most interested in. But there we come to the problem. Well, Eddie worked because his promos and his schlub like appearance was different. The issue is the guy became a NJPW simp/weeb and is trying far too hard to be something he will never be.

The Acclaimed were okay, but once you figured out what Scissoring actually is... they came off as degenerates. The whole MJF/Max Caster part didn't help them either.

The Women's Division is also a hot-booked mess. All they get is the one match and they are often not that good. You can easily cut down some of the matches to like 6-10 minutes and then have room to do 1-2 extra women's segments... with actual competent women who can get over.

All companies should only have 1 top title. Create divisional/gimmick belts and treat them as prestigious if you want more titles that don't just feel like midcard like US/IC, gives a guy a reason to go after something that isn't the top belt since US/IC are just kayfabe lesser/regional belts to the World title.

Actually disagree even though I don't like multiple world titles. Brock if he comes back, Roman, Cody, Drew, Seth, AJ, Punk are all solid main eventers, LA Knight could be if they weren't set on cooling him off, Gunther is headed for the main event once he drops the IC, Randy, Miz & Shinsuke can be all filler guys, Sami & KO could probably also be filler contenders, Braun with the right rebuild could be filler, Balor is dimeless IMO but he's got fans so could possibly fill in for one PLE shot.
6 certified main eventers plus Brock equals 3 for each belt, 2 more guys they could elevate as fresh main event talents, and a good 3-7 filler contenders to keep champions busy inbetween feuds. That's a strong enough picture for 2, but could be a red hot scene with just 1 belt.

2) The result could very well get overturned. In kayfabe, Roman has a tremendous amount of power, he would just get a rematch or even get the match thrown out entirely.

Wrestle Kingdom kind of played on this sentiment of "guys in a multi-man fucking hate the other guy," by having Moxley and Ospreay agree to spend the first five minutes of the match murdering Finlay so they could settle it one-on-one, but of course Finlay just ran in and pinned somebody at the end. What they should've done and what these three guys should do is team up on Roman during the match and just mercilessly beat him until he's in a fucking coma. It's a 3-on-1 No DQ match for as long as they want it. Break both of his legs, break both of his arms, break his neck, you can make sure he can't step in the ring for the next 3 years and it would be 100% legal.

Just once, I would like to see that. A bunch of babyfaces get so sick of a heel's shit that they just team up and beat on him until he's dead.

Trick gets attacked and taken out of the match. He returns a few weeks later but didn't see who attacked him. Trick wants to push the match back and face Ilja at 100% but Melo thinks he's crazy and should take every advantage he can get. Anyway last week Ilja returns in a neck brace, Trick tells him they can push the match back but then Ilja takes the brace off and insists the match is on.
