This is how you know just how badly AEW is damaged, they've just given up. It's all X+1/you're gay/seek help/KYS/Incel/no GF? trolling at this point. It's all they have left. There's no demand for more AEW fan-made content, YouTube compilations, memes, music videos, t-shirts.....there's none of it.

There's only yummy debuts of NJPW/Stardom/WWE talent and that's it. That's all AEW Fan has to look forward to. Grim.

Why would anyone give ROH a TV deal? The show is virtually indistinguishable from AEW and they already have 3 shows on TV. The shows are all made up of AEW talent, no talent is exclusive to ROH, and ROH championships are competed for on AEW programming, and vice versa. Any ROH taping or PPV is just an AEW show with different graphics packages and commentators. It's somehow worse than WWECW because WWE wasn't pretending like they were still trying to operate ECW as its own separate entity. WWE was clear ECW would be a typical WWE show from the start.

Outside of retard la-la land, Tony Khan had to give away a chunk of the company with 1) no voting shares, but 2) it's isolated from salary commitments and other liabilities. idk why Shad would make Tony agree to that, maybe AEW is burning through more cash at a faster rate than we all realized.

AEW isn't worth anything once you subtract all the outstanding contracts. If (when) Tony gets tired of being raked over the coals and sells the company, he'll buy-out all the contracts and that ~30% or so leftover will cover IP, tape library, console/mobile games, TV/streaming deals, social media, etc, which might be worth $50 million or so

Depends on what kind of clause the TV deal has - there's no way they agree to pay $2 million/week (or whatever it is) whether AEW is putting on jobber matches or top talents, there's gotta be some kind of maintenance/standards clauses. Can't cut payroll 90%, switch to high school gyms and still keep the cash.

So again, around the time AEW's new TV deals kick in, they're going to have to start paying talent like Toni Storm, The Acclaimed, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, MJF, Danny Garcia, and numerous other talent who are due huge raises. And those huge raises aren't going to be accompanied by massive cuts to Christian, Moxley, and other top-paid talents. Those talent costs are going UP across the board, not staying flat.

This is not me being worked into a shoot - this is you purposely ignoring reality in favor of a narrative.

Only if he gives them massive increases. I don't believe this is as inevitable as you want to make it seem. Tony's roster is enormous, he has a lot of leverage over talent. Each one of them is worth less given that he has someone else just waiting to jump into their spot. Cody was an EVP and Tony had no problems letting him go. Sasha Banks, going by the name Sasha Banks, is worth much more to a wrestling company than Mercedes Moné. If "Sasha Banks" could perform in AEW, she'd have been signed months ago, injured or otherwise. It all goes into the calculation. If AEW doesn't want to risk alienating fans, the last thing they'll want to do is let pillars and building blocks walk because Tony suddenly becomes a cheapskate.

It's not going to be as easy as just pushing Komander instead of Darby Allin, or putting Matt Taven in Orange Cassidy's spot.

Never let a wrestler book and create their own shit unless they have a very good track record. Punk decided to be a wrestler who could keep up with the younger guys despite the fact that Punk was never a good wrestler and most of his promos were shit because he didn't have anyone credible to bounce off of (seemed to half-ass his promos as a result), Punk only does well with good opponents and his opponents were generally below average on the mic, that's why rarities like MJF made him look good and helped his character.
Cody doesn't have a creative bone in his body but he is good when he is being told what to do. Cody had far too much control on the mic and over his own booking which forced him into the "Codyverse", his own little bubble of seldom that pushed the crowd away when in reality Cody works when he is not living in his own little bubble, that's why he gets the crowd involved in his promos now so he's not stuck in that personal bubble. His booking is good in WWE too and his opponents are credible.

The man got his own show and two world title reigns, and was being built back up for a third. If there's anyone whose on screen booking was fine in AEW it was Punk. it's just hard to book around someone who is either injured, suspended, or injured and suspended all the time. He was there for two years and missed half of it. At some point though, when fights and arguments keep breaking out, but there's only one name popping up in each of them, a hand has to be forced.

The reason both will work better in WWE is that they can both be kept on tighter leashes for different reasons. Cody doesn't have the same level of creative control, so can't book himself into a corner where he's feuding with his training school's coach for 8 months or bang on about how he's ending racism because he had sex with a beautiful black woman. And Punk is just another talent now, so doesn't get to walk around running a show and if he has issues with someone, can get someone else to take care of it for him.
Also helps that whilst Cody is a professional and will do what's asked and would be welcomed back to AEW with open arms to "finish his other story", Punk knows he's forever on thin ice and isn't bigger than the company. He causes a backstage scene one time and that really will be it for him in wrestling.

Cody will be World Champion within the next two years. If Punk is still in the company as an active wrestler in two years, I'll be stunned.
