Return to the actual gritty filming style, possibly take a few notes from peak LU.
Emphasize that the characters are all intermingling and not vacuumed in their own feuds.
Do on-location filming stuff like the Austin/Angle bridge segment and use more of the arena, parking lot and boiler room brawls were absolutely kino television. Everything happening in the ring is dimeless.

Yeah you can kind of get away with little or no story when your dream match consists of two international entertainment mega stars who are the biggest names in wrestling history. There are no wrestlers currently with anywhere near the star power to pull it off. Maybe Roman Reigns Vs Kenny Omega would cut it. The point is that no-story matches work just fine when you have a once in a lifetime dream match between the two very biggest stars in a generation. It is not however a good way to book an entire card, much less an entire TV show week in week out.
