>>11480068The biggest issue is that AEW can't simply sign a mega TV deal - and then turn around and release Jericho, Sting, Andrade, Miro, Hardys or anyone else they're paying millions to. Warner-Discovery is going to expect them to keep their payroll/expenses substantially the same, same drawing power, same star-studded shows, and so on.
That said, having a TV deal isn't going to add much to valuation when no potential buyer is going to want to take on all those contracts, especially once guys like Jungle Jack, Darby, etc, are getting huge raises despite 0 other wrestling companies that would also offer them a similar amount. Imagine having to pay to acquire the $2,500,000/year 5-year contract for Sammy Guevara when he's only bringing in a fraction of that in revenue, social media views, etc
Tony['s dad] has more money than God so the company will continue on, but keep in mind that even as it grows in presence - who knows, they might even get a 4th tv show - they're also exponentially growing in expenses. If I get a $10,000/year raise at work, but develop a $20,000/year gambling habit....well....
