Above avg in ring till Owen almost killed him. Then he was mainly a brawler but near the end had some bangers with Benoit and Rock.

He deserved the hype but I grew up with him as the guy.

1996-97 he did more chain wrestling. I think a combination of both would've worked out better for him. And, he did get over in 97. By summer, he was clearly the most over face. So I don't think it was just him mainly brawling.

Not in 1997 he didn't. 1999 arguably. By 2001 though Austin was more hot and over going into Wrestlemania so nope. 2003 was the Rock at his peak as a heel and Austin was past his prime, so I agree.
