Nope, he waltzed into the company when it was already doing the peak of its business and then shat the bed, ruined the title scene, had the worst reigns in AEW history and permanently destroyed its lineage, was responsible for the worst year in company history, gave AEW their first ever negative press in history, buried the company in public and physically assaulted his co-workers on two separate occasions before being fired. He is without question the single worst and most damaging hire that AEW have ever had.

The buzz behind his debut certainly helped, but he was NOT responsible for the 7 week run of >1M Dynamite episodes in September 2021, during that period Kenny was heel champion and feuding with newly debuted Danielson, those were the segments that drew the highest.

It took NXT fucking off for them to get their first milly where he wasn't even on the show. They stopped getting millies with no competition until blood and guts. AEW's hype peaked at Grand Slam '21 a few weeks after Punk debuted. This was where Kenny and Bryan wrestled and did the highest ratings outside of the debut.
