Sodomy is a sin in the bible - with sodomy meaning any sex that is not explicitly for procreation. All activities should be in the service of the lord.
So gaysex is bad because it doesn't make a baby. Blowjobs are also a sin. Anything that doesn't result in pregnancy is a sin. I don't know when or why it was written to have the no sex rule, but probably had something to do with a religious leader being ugly and unfuckable or rampant diseases.
Priests were allowed to fuck back then too, the view of celibacy is pretty new.
