If you have not taken a basic video class or (ideally) majored in communications or technology, you have NO right to argue about the space a hardcam section needs.
Yes the camera itself is small. But the production crew, wires, monitors, relays, and rigs all need a LOT of space and they cannot get in the way of audience members (safety risk).
It is completely necessary to have 10, 20 or even 50 rows opened for the crew to work.
