Most indie matches are put together 1-3hours before the show, and you're hardly ever given ring time before to go over it. You might be able to get a few minutes in there before the show to go over key details, but you have to share that time with the rest of the card. There usually is only a few hours between the ring being set up and doors opening.
If someone has a move that is a pain in the ass to take, most people will just say no during the planning.
