More news coverage from WWE has brought up claims from the 1980s this past week. These claims don’t directly involve Vince McMahon, but did involve WWF and unnamed executives at the time. Paul Roma (Paul Centopani, 64), was on Ashleigh Banfield’s show on News Nation and said that talent when he was around were sexually harassed by gay executives, without mentioning any names. He said there was a story he said was far worse than anything in the Janel Grant lawsuit that he said he has been surprised that never came out, but wouldn’t detail it. He said the person involved has a family and he probably doesn’t want it out and said he and business partner Mario Mancini, who also knew of it, have talked about it of late how it somehow hasn’t gotten out and when pressed, wouldn’t reveal it. The one story of substance he claimed was something that many others have talked about in interviews over the years, an allegation involving his tag team partner, Jim Powers (James Manley, 66). Powers, who teamed with Roma as The Young Stallions, an undercard WWF tag team that didn’t get much of a push, was, according to Roma, allegedly propositioned by a gay executive. He said Powers was offered money and drugs by gay executives asking for sexual favors saying all he had to do was lay on his back and he didn’t have to do a thing, but said Powers refused to do it. Roma said Powers came running to him at a television taping to tell him the story.
