Actually. what's happened is that a lot of creative/entertainment industries gradually became so artificial and generic to target mass appeal that they lost any semblance of distinctiveness and creative drive, which has paved the way for AI taking these over. It's easy for AI to slide in an take the role of countless people, because the shit they were making was so easy, generic and predictable regardless. AI can't innovate, but nobody at a mainstream level has been innovating for a long time anyway. Everything has looked the same, bland and soulless, and that's what AI gives us more of.
Look at the AI music that can come out. Yeah, it can imitate synthwave and EDM style slop, because that garbage is easy to make anyway. Movies using CG, video game devs and music producers have for some time now just been fiddling about with buttons on a computer screen while the computer does all the work; AI just removes the smooth brain from the equation and predicts the sequences of input he would have made.
