And no, I don't think that aew puts was much focus into entrances and cheap pops and sing along bits and other nonsense that the wwe does. Does it separate a fool from their money better? Yes. But thats being better at business, which is a separate skill.
And please don't pretend wrestlers are great business minded entrepreneurs. They're not. If they were they would have made their own business and not be a helpful cog in a bigger whole
Perhaps an interesting discussion is comparing and contrasting the marketing strategies amd what has been effective for wwe, ufc, and aew. Action figures and video games, I don't think, was as successful for ufc as they were for wwe, but I dont think ultimate fighter was much more successful at generating fans than tough enough ever was.
Another thing to keep in mind, wwe has been an institution for prolly atleast 40 years. When you're that deep in public consciousness, it helps a lot. Doesn't gaurentee, as WCW showed, but it helps
