>>13843300I agree with a lot of this, but my range is closer to 5'9 to 6'3. Strength is more important than size/look.
The problem with guys like Cole+Bucks is they have neither strength nor size. If you train almost exclusively 1-5 reps of high 1RM, you will put on much more strength than size, but it's heavily taxing on your CNS, joints and ligaments/tendons - so it's hard to be a full-time wrestler and add strength (maintaining isn't as hard). It's much easier on the body to do some 10-rep sets on machines/cables, leg press for a few sets and call it good. Guys like Omega, Swerve, Jay White, Hangman, you can tell they go hard af in the gym in all areas - it shows in the ring the way they can hoist and throw guys around. We've seen the videos of guys like Cena going HAM in the squat rack. Does anyone honestly believe the Bucks are wrapping their knees, throwing on a belt and low-barring 455 ass to grass? It's not happening.
I discussed this a while back with Gunther and why he appears so much less intimidating than some other guys his size/height - it's because he's training strength not size (hypertrophy). It's too much of a workload to do strength + size + conditioning + wrestle all at the same time, unless you're loaded up on hormones. Stranger names have been popped (Literally Dee Strange, in this case) but Gunther doesn't seem the type, which explains his look.
