He was pretty much the only non-WWE guy who could promo in 2000s ROH. Him being friends with the right people gave him pushes, which then, when WWE ran out of territory guys to steal, made Triple H overrate Adam Cole. Which combined with NXT's early hype, Britt Baker pushing for it, and being in the Bucks' circle, made Khan think Adam Cole was good. It's all circumstantial crony stuff as usual.
If he had that much charisma, real charisma, he would be successful outside of wrestling. And he isn't even successful in wrestling, because he tanked NXT and AEW. That's not charisma.
