Yeah because Austin vs Rock was the feud at the top when the company mattered. Austin saw that it was an overbooked mess that would only over shadow Cody winning the belt who is the guy that can still wrestle now

If the glass shattered, he wouldn't have even had to appear at all to get that pop. If he did, he could have stood at the top of the ramp, the distraction would have been the same. The part I don't like is how they did hokey Taker magic to make everyone disappear (then Rock is back a minute later anyway).

If anything it would have had more resonance with the throwback it was supposed to be. Undertaker was never one to participate in overbooked matches, for the most part, but Austin had tons of them.

Money and travel were all that prevented it, I'm sure. H ain't paying enough for him to travel further than the fridge for a beer on WrestleMania night.

Rock wasn't doing wrestling podcasts for a long time; not even the WWE could get him as he was doing Hollywood and would only be interviewed on mainstream outlets. As for movie premiers, that just isn't the Austin scene. Like with Bret Hart, Dwyane always speaks warmly about Austin without being prompted. If someone is wearing a Hart or Ausitn shirt, Dwyane will talk about them, how they looked after him, and his favourite matches with them. It is probably some of the only times he's genuine in an interview without giving political answers.

Kayfabe the Taker thing is more so a Heyman receipt for managing Brock who ended his streak.
