Some places require any sort of physical and competitive event to be registered with the regional athletic commission. Pro wrestling would still apply in some areas given its physicality even if the outcome is predetermined and they're just play fighting.

AEW should and will lose their wrestling license over this, and because other states work together for enforcement, other states will have no choice but to suspend AEWs license as well.

They will be able to run shows in Canada, Mexico and England, but AEW is going to have a hard time getting licensed in many US states. This is terrible news, I feel so bad for their fans.
