My schizo headcannon is that Paul is behind the whole Janel Grant thing. Who got away scott-free from it all and even got the next wrestling era named after him? Paul.

So Vince tried to get some level of control back by putting Dwayne on the board. Its well-known that the Cock is a huge Vince mark, and its also well-known that Paul and Vince had some heat all throughout 2021 to 2023 over booking decisions.

The deal was that Dwayne would get to main-event vs. Roman to promote his new movie, and through him, Vince would get some creative control back from Paul. This is where Paul conveniently had something to throw at Vince, and the allegations rose up. The timelines match up. Rock goes on the board, takes Cody's spot, then Janel Grant suddenly becomes a thing. Now, the allegations are probably true, but Paul's team likely made a deal with Janel that they'd back her up so long as their names remain out of the allegations.

Next up was #WeWantCody. Most of the signs were printed at WWE arenas, they were not written. The camera intentionally zoomed in on them. While Dwayne had genuine heat, its Paul that intensified it, so Dwayne turned heel as a compromise to still be in the main event.

Now Paul has total creative control over WWE, has the full trust of the TKO Board and there's no way for Vince to take any amount of power back.
