Matt is underrated and overrated at the same time. That delete shit was a good meme but people act like it was amazing when it wasn't. His best gimmick is Version 1.0, and back then people thought Matt would be the guy. Jeff was getting booed out of the ring in ROH fucked up on drugs as Matt was ascending. That blood feud and cage match with Edge was fucking kino and people talked about it at school. Then Jeff pulls ahead in 2007, Matt is a bright spot on SmackDown with MVP, but the RAW Swanton Bomb and Umaga match save the PG era from being an absolute disaster.
Overall it's almost not fair to use Jannetty as a term here because Matt hadn't succumbed to Jamaican lust or whatever Marty was up to as Shawn was fucking peak Sunny. Matt was ECW champion, had a nice solo career. As much as the delete brother Nero shit wasn't for me it was a really smart way to spare his body after speed running the Hogan lower back trouble with that top rope leg drop.
