>>14453439The question with Tony Khan/AEW is when and how he'll pivot once WBD inevitably low-balls him so much he's forced to walk. He said he'd take "a penny or two less", finance speak for a few percent less, but what's the point of sticking around for 20-30% less money? To avoid renaming the TBS/TNT titles? Would be a very weak reason.
AEW needs an overhaul with a full-fledged authority figure to guide the program and match announcing process, a soft brand-split, ROH titles off the program, ROH turned into their AAA to call up/send down talent (for rehab, discipline, further training, etc). I won't even sit here and say X Y or Z will be fired, the personnel is what it is. But the format of the shows don't work. Dynamite is long bangers with some story, Rampage is fun bangers with no story, and Collision is squash matches and cutting room floor garbage. They need more structure or fans will continue to tune out. Rampage/Collision should not be getting 1/2 of Dynamite's audience when all 3 shows are on TNT/TBS, that's terrible retention.
AEW still has a chance, the question is how much and how quickly Tony Tunnelvision will delegate some of his authority and allow the experienced, inside-looking-out wrestlers to run the show vs his outside-looking-in mark "experience" and knowledge, which clearly isn't working - and has only been carried this far by the infinite money glitch and goodwill from old school ROH/WCW/ECW fans.
