Mio's neck was messed up because she was working while her sister was doing drugs with her juggalo boyfriend. Io's family hated Nosawa because he's an ugly juggalo who looks and kind of is a thug with a criminal history and after her arrest they were estranged for years because they saw her as a retard for dating him. They didn't at least partially make up until Mio retired.

There's plenty of seething from Io; she has admitted that she was "spoiled" when starting in the business because Mio was the one who would do all the admin work for their bookings when they were a tag team. Then Io just fucked off to Stardom because it was good for her. Also, anyone with a brain can tell that in Triple Tails Mio/Asuka were better friends than Io/Mio and Io/Asuka. Anyone with a personality like Io is going to hate that.

A good example of what their relationship was like is how Io reacts in the Pyjama Party when she's asked to talk about Mio; even in an environment like that she freezes up and looks so uncomfortable.
