No, Sinclair didn't release everyone (just most of them). Some people are still under contract at least through Supercard of Honor. Only a couple of the ROH people have actually signed with Impact, AFAIK.

ECW had TV (even before TNN, ECW Hardcore was syndicated). Only wrestling nerds know about CZM and GCW. The closest thing to a spiritual successor to ROH, in terms of the overall feel and fan experience if not in terms of the wrestling style, was ROH.

I expect that was the idea from the ROH side all along. Impact might have been hoping for more. We'll have to see how it all plays out: presumably TK will end up retaining some of the remaining ROH talent, but probably not all. Some people who hadn't signed with Impact yet might do so now if they don't see a future for themselves in whatever becomes of ROH.

I would assume this means that Deonna will be dropping the ROH women's title at Supercard of Honor.
