Omega and Ibushi had been working as a guest Jr tag team anyway because DDT was still an indy and their guys were freelance. Omega worked AJPW and Stardom, Gatoh move. Omega and Ibushi worked an ice ribbon show iirc.
Anyway, Omega and Ibushi had a tag run vs Devitt and Taguchi thag was the best thing in NJPW for a long time, which set up the partnership. Ibushi stayed part time with new japan and eventually omega signed with them years later. They tried to sign endo but he isn't gay so he stayed in DDT.
However, DDT has a lot of former njpw guys like Hirata.
