It got so bad that mods decided to filter it into something else so nobody could say finna anymore. Finner is basically a cope word that was used to bypass this filter. This was around the same time FaceApp was released and started getting popular for memes. Then people started making threads of FaceApped wrestlers spamming finner and it stuck.
