Brainlets like Tony Khan think wrestling is about the wrestling and that couldn't be further from the truth. Wrestling is supposed to be a crazy, over the top, larger than life soap opera for men. One part The Godfather and one part Looney Tunes. It's all about the story because that's what wrestling actually is, it's a fucking story. And if all you do is book ice cold "dream matches" and treat the story as a vague afterthought like Tony does, then you're completely missing the forest for the trees, and you'll never attract normal TV viewers. And the hardcore fans you do have will gradually lose interest and walk away. Because even people who think they want nothing but matches don't actually want nothing but matches. Everyone wants a good story whether they realize it nor not.
