Sometime later, Bastion and Spidey returned to you with what you could only interpret as a mixture of exhaustion, relief and cautious optimism.
“You guys ready to hit the road?” Gwen asked.
“I thought you’d never ask.” you said, rising to your full height and accessing your mask’s HUD to get a sense of which direction you should be heading in. “We can’t afford to waste time here, so I’ll be sending you the address of where we’re supposed to go.”
“Hopefully they haven’t shaken the tracker yet.” Gwen said, pulling her phone out of a pouch on her vest.
“Trust me, those trackers aren’t that easy to shake.” Abe reassured her. “And I’ve been paying attention to their last known location, and I think I know where their hideout is.”
Gwen gave him a curious look.
“You’re not gonna like it.” he told her.

After cross-referencing with Julia and a virtual map of the city, you had a good feeling that Abel knew what he was talking about. And confirming his little theory didn’t make either of you feel any better about what was to come.
As it turned out, the birds’ base was a spacious junkyard. But in its current state, it could’ve been considered a maze or an iron fortress. Bit’s of rusted metal and random pieces of junk were grafted together to form an impromptu nest/cage. The top of it could barely be seen over its high walls, and your current elevated position was pretty much the only reason you noticed any of this at all.
“This is insane…”
“We’ve seen weirder.” Abel replied, squinting at the bizarre structure. “It actually looks a lot like the public art piece that we trashed a while back.”
You chuckled at that. “Oh, yeah. I guess it does, huh.”
All jokes aside though, you needed to come up with a plan here. Gwen would be showing up any minute now, and you wanted to have an answer ready for her when she showed up.
>Sneak in with Abel and see if you can’t locate any potential prisoners without being caught.>Wait for Gwen to get her so that the three of you can storm the fortress.>Call for backup. (Who?)>See if you and Gwen can’t serve as distractions while Abel does the rescuing.>Take this opportunity to check on Abel’s mental health before Gwen gets here.>Write-in.Pastebins:
