>>5219302You're right about most of it, I think. Avengers was purely carried on by hype and was massive undertaking/cinematic event/experiment. But the fact of the matter is that movie aged like milk. Avengers 1 is kinda generic, and Avenger 2 is just shilling future Marvel projects.(Also ruined Ultron, but whatever)
Guardians is the best example of a team of literal who's becoming popular through popular media. People love the concept of a bunch of misfits becoming a family. They tried to replicate that success with the Eternals, but literally who gives a fuck about the Eternals? No one I've met.
People more or less have a sort of Stockholm syndrome where they're too invested to stop, and the studio makes you feel like you're missing out if you don't see every single movie. Kinda like Kingdom Hearts, I guess.
>>5219300The second half of No Way Home was so cathartic for me. It felt like someone actually addressed every single complaint that I had about the new movies. Like the guys in the writers room were just pretending to be retarded for several years, and now it's just "PSYCH, WE KNEW WHAT YOU WANTED ALL ALONG!"
