The Castle Bastonne had walls that were washed with a white limestone. Each of them several men thick as the walls could not be pierced by even the greatest cannon of the Imperials. There was one battle, against a rogue crew of cannoniers and Beastmen, and so it was said that not a single strike could be made against the pearl white walls of Gilles’ home.
Walking through there one was welcomed with warm yellow light. A sense that this place was not just another castle but the home of whoever walked into it. Such was that Castle Bastonne in truth was a home to the hearth of Bretonnia. In these halls did the fate of the entire land be determined and followed through.
Within this hall where the pillers seemed to reach all the way to the sky did it become filled with people of all sorts. The first did Lucian walk by seemed to be Peasant girls dressed as maids and maidens. But a glance upon each of their faces made one realize that they were all Noble Women.
Even with the staff it held true. Within the Castle Bastonne there was not to be a single Peasant within the Walls. Such people would stand the walls and lose from it the blessings that the Lady had given to the keep. For millennia it has stood and for millennia more it shall stand for only those with honor shall walk her halls.
Lucian followed Adok, the Dwarf who was carrying his Heraldry across the room. They came by the Knights Errants who were to be the peers of the Black Knight. Many still held anger for him, but thanks to his display earlier many had softened and even had a sense of fascination that made them feel somewhat weird.
They were the ones who understood why this was happening. That Moriset respected the Peasant enough to give him the full treatment of becoming a Knight. Among them some were even envious, for Lucian was to be Knighted at Castle Bastonne.
Leaving them behind, Lucian found the Knights of the Realm. Each of them looking upon him with some interest. Many had steeled faces as if unimpressed. Just as many carried a sense of annoyance followed by those who held in respect the armiger.
Then Lucian began ascending a small step. It was here that he passed from those who were simply Nobles and now walked among those who were Heroes.
