The one message you received when you looked at your new bedroom is, other than “go get a promotion immediately,” seems to be that you're expected to go out and talk to your other Stormwatch members. You've only ever, really, caught someone after work on an appointed meeting – your studies on Finnish myth occupied much of the free hours of your first week, but if you spend any more time in that cramped pod than necessary you'll go crazy. You don't really know many people other than Lalli, so you're gonna see what he gets up to.
The first few floors of the residential region of the Stormwatch HQ, the Barracks, are occupied mainly by residential pods and public shared living areas for the L1 rookies. Above that are proper apartments for the L2 agents. And as the elevator clicks to the floors for the L3 agents, you walk out to see the floor plan. It's a big building, but only six residences fit per floor. That's a big step up from the 48 L1 pods. The actual roof seems to be off limits, giant cables directly powering and getting the feed from security cameras across the city. Wireless was too exploitable, they said. Still! Everything is clear and clean. Perhaps too sterile for your woodland hamlet tastes.
Ringing the door to Lalli's room, you didn't know what to expect. What does he do in his free time? What's he do with his pay? You wanna know!
The door remotely unlocks. Neat. Taking that as an invitation, you open the door and walk in.
The interior is a clean, modern apartment. It's very spacious, with a vestibule, two living rooms. Kitchen and a dining room. The walls are white, chairs are black. Dust coats the most remote corners of the living space, adjacent to the well-used exercise equipment. He has a collection of liquor bottles in a sliding bar, most of which are near empty, as if they were achievements and trophies while several empty bottles of cheaper liquor sit beside it, waiting to be thrown out.
That's all there is to say about it.
You like to think you have a connection to things with a soul. A certain attunement, you could say. But this place is an empty space. It has been thoroughly scrubbed clean of life. There is nothing there, and you're not sure if that's on purpose.
Though perhaps he lives outside his room as well...
