Once you arrived at Flint’s apartment, Victoria couldn’t help but gape at the absolute state of your buddy’s hovel. The wallpaper was peeling in some places, the drywall had a huge crack in the wall by the couch, and the sink was full of dirty dishes. There was an undeniable smell about the place too. In hindsight, you probably should've stopped by to clean the place up a bit while Flint was away from home.
“Jesus Christ…” Vic gasped, staring wide eyed at a line of ants trailing down the kitchen counter. “If the cult doesn’t get me, the roaches will. How does Flint live like this?”
“Look on the bright side.” you said in a cheery tone. “At least he doesn’t have rats.”
As if to prove you wrong in that very moment, something shifted in the corner, causing all of you to jump back reflexively. Cindy reached for her bo-staff immediately, but you grabbed at her hand and shook your head slowly.
“Well…it’s a bit of a fixer upper.”
Vic tried to laugh, but it came out sounding more like a whimper. You spent the better part of that evening helping them to clean and move their essentials into the apartment. Luckily, Flint’s mattress was big enough for both of them to sleep in it together. Although, Vis spent at least half an hour checking for fleas or bedbugs. You’d nearly forgotten how much of a clean freak she was.
While she did that though, you instructed Cindy to hang up some baskets full of dogwood blossoms and carve some basic wards into the walls. Peter eventually took some interest in what she was doing and asked to help. Cindy just shrugged and instructed him on how to draw the runes. She didn’t allow him to hold the knife by himself, and did more to guide his hand with her own placed firmly on top.
And in that very moment, Vic came out to check on things.
“So the bedroom’s clean. ‘Clean’ being a relative term, but—OH MY GOD!” she exclaimed, moving to snatch the knife out of the kid’s hands. “What are you guys doing!? This is someone’s home! The landlord’s gonna freak when he finds out!”
Suddenly, she scrunched up her nose and recoiled in disgust. “What is that smell!? Who brought these flowers here?”
Vic was having a full-blown meltdown. You had to calm her down.
What will you say?
>Pull Vic aside and explain the whole vampire situation to her.>”I brought them here. I thought they’d freshen up the place. I hear they drive away pests.”>”I'm pretty sure this passes for modern art these days. You shouldn’t stifle their creativity.”>”Don’t worry. I’ll buy some wallpaper tomorrow and cover it all up. No one will ever notice.”>”If it makes you feel any better, I’ll start looking for a new place for you guys tomorrow. This is all just temporary.”>Write-in.Pastebins:
