Blood flew everywhere as Lucian’s scythe caused a whirlwind of murder and mayhem. The creatures of Chaos, seeing a human coming upon them without care did not hesitate to come forward with their crude axes and maws held high to try and kill the Black Knight. Yet their axes fell upon the armor of Dwarfen make without making even a dent.
Lucian did not enjoy the blood of the battle, nor really the carnage. That was not what the rune that was burning upon his soul wanted him to commit his life to. It gave him might and strength that was beyond all and it ached to not satisfy its lust for the death of foes.
For that was what it needed to be used for. To kill the enemies of the Dwarfs. It came, in that respect, that the enemies of dwarfs were also the enemies of the rest of the world.
Nightshade stomped upon a corpse of a beastman and with a strike of the leash went for another herd of them. In a sudden movement a group of bestigors came from the nearby shrubbery with knives poised to dis deep into Lucian’s neck and shoulder plates.
With a simple movement of his shoulders and wrist the Knight was able to didge most of the hidden strikes. He allowed the one to sink him blade into the neckplate of the armor yet it did not even touch the skin that was underneath the armor. So thick it was that daggers were useless against his hide.
The Black Knight gave a twist of fury, sending blood across the field that killed a great many of the Bestigors that were upon him and causing the rest to flee.
Not many were not many large ones among this horde. Only creatures that were scrawny and malnorished even as they murdered so many peasants. He watched them all fleeing deeper into the forest towards places he could not see, the beastmen being of all sizes.
Some, Lucian realized, were children.
The Rune wanted to kill more of them, but the desire that was upon him was waning. If he wanted to Lucian could hold his blade back. After all he was already a ways from Adok.
