“Let’s go to the mountains then.”
Superman smiles and nods. “Be careful with the liftoff, we can easily cause property damage.”
You look at Flash. “How come you don’t and still run off that fast?”
He taps his chest. “I work different, maybe I’ll tell ya someday.”
You shrug, you and Superman slowly lift off the ground and after reaching a safe altitude, Superman begins speeding up. You follow along.
He yells so you can hear him through the wind. “You should avoid breaking the sound barrier too low to the ground, you can hurt people’s eardrums.”
You cross your arms. “Humans have very weak physiques, don’t they?” You yell.
Superman nods. “Yes, at least when compared to us.” He stays silent as you fly towards what you recognize from the textbooks as the Rockies.
“How do you do it?” You yell.
“Well, I’ll show you, it’s all about restraint. You have to really think about how you’re hitting something.”
The flight lasts around half an hour as you both reach your top speeds, now unable to communicate with each other. Great white-tipped mountains show up in the horizon, surrounded by sprawling pine forests dotted with lakes, rivers and some settlements. Superman heads for a high point in one of the mountains and you follow along.
You both step into the snow and look at each other from a distance.
“So, let’s start this off nice and easy.” Superman puts his fists onto his waist. “Slap me with the strength you used before.”
You oblige. You float closer to superman, who looks at you weird as you do so, and take his arm and slap his hand. Obviously, he barely feels a tap.
“See, that’s way too strong.” He says.
You sigh. “I don’t even know if I can slap someone any less.”
He chuckles. “I’m sure you can! Here.” He taps you on the chest with his fist. You don’t feel anything at all. “That’s called a friendly punch, now try it on me.”
“Right.”
Roll 1d100, best of three, to do a light, friendly punch that absolutely wouldn’t kill a human. DC is 50.
