>>5948280>>5948272>>5948231>>5948231You decide to spend more time fully isolating his magic. Unfortunately, you can't do that if he's fully separated from you by a devil's gamble cage, so you'll have to keep him in the jar. You bring the jar to the forest, and after making sure no one followed you, you start cutting off what you think is the body swapping portion of his magic. Now that you think about it, Sarah would've been really handy for this, but it's a little late to call her. negating his magic entirely is a lot harder than you'd think, it's something to disrupt physical things, but altering magic on such a fundamental level is a little more complex than you're used to. At one point, you think you finally managed to cut the right part but...
"Weaver, it seems his magic is contracting inward," Arachne remarks
That's...probably not good. The cockroach starts to move erratically, slamming its head against the glass again and again, a few of its legs start to contort, it slams faster, but it shouldn't be able to, it's like its body is being thrown around by an invisible force, its wings and legs aren't moving, what is going on-
SPLAT.
Red and brown paint the jar's previously clean interior. Arachne mentions that cockroach blood is actually colorless, and that it's a strange color for it to have. It is pretty strange, but you'd say there's something more noteworthy than the color right now.
Like the fact it's still moving.
The bug's limbs are spread out, but they're still twitching, the blood is still flowing, interconnected by some kind of invisible link that even your MPR struggles to make sense of. This shouldn't be possible, right? He shouldn't be able to manipulate something that is, for all intents and purposes, dead. Did you mess up his magic so hard it unlocked a brand-new ability?
"It's just a guess, but it might be a case of emergency specialization," Arachne casually says. "His magic might have sensed it was in mortal danger, and started shifting to something else. The good news is he probably can't body swap anymore, the bad news is we have no idea what else he can do now, I don't think I'd be able to figure it out with MPR since the change is so fresh."
You ask Arachne what you should do.
"I'm not sure. Maybe you should just wait for it to run out of magic, but it might be able to get out of the jar if the magic really does allow it to control non-living things, although the devil's gamble coating might stop him."
What are you supposed to do with this? You've lost your unreliable existence hold on it, but that doesn't mean you can't affect his magic in minor ways.
>Just put it in a devil's gamble cage, wait for it to run out of juice.>Disrupt his magic so he loses hold on it, a cockroach's body is physical enough for you to mess with.>Maybe giving it the Russian agency is the smart play here.>Let K.I.S.A absorb the magic, it should negate the magic before it becomes a problem.>Write in.
