You took out your phone and called Flint from your list of contacts. He was more than willing to stay at the hospital and watch over your brother. Thankfully, he didn’t ask why you couldn’t stay. He knew what day it was, after all. He might give you shit over your decision sometime later, but even he knew how valuable a good reputation was. It was something that couldn’t be bought, no matter how much money you had.
You took one long look at your brother, shook your head, and headed out the door. You needed to hurry if you still wanted to make it.

Once again, you were sitting in the stone-carved uncomfortable-ass bleachers, watching two scumbags duke it out in the Pit. You’d seen Barracuda in the audience tonight, as well as a good chunk of people that had been present for your debut. If the congratulatory pats on the back when you had entered the building meant anything, then one could easily assume that you’d managed to acquire the respect of the patrons of this fine establishment.
There were more than a few people that you didn’t recognize, as well as a cadre of new fighters that had been trying to make a name for themselves tonight. But there was one absence that everyone had noticed. Typhoid Mary wasn’t here.
Everyone had been looking forward to seeing her fight, but after the fixed result of your last match with Matt, the Crucible had seen a small riot. They’d managed to quell their patron’s rage, and everyone left more or less unsatisfied with the night’s events. However, that didn’t prevent someone from following the ref for that match out into the parking lot and stabbing him violently, and repeatedly.
Everyone knew who was to blame, and as a result, Mary wouldn’t be allowed back in the Crucible for a little while. Mary either lost a lot of money on that fight, or she was looking forward to her fight with you more than anyone thought.
You glanced around the arena, looking for a specific face. When you found Matt and Angela, you gave them a slow nod. Matt whispered into Angela’s ear, and they both turned and nodded back at you. You were glad to see them. After your last conversation with Matt, you weren’t entirely sure if he’d show up for this rematch.
Admittedly, it was tough not seeing Flint in the audience with you. He was in your corner from the very beginning, supporting you with every penny that he had.
Did you invite anyone to support you during this fight?
