After collecting everything, you make another break for it, trying your best to not get you or Kiara some new holes. Luckily they didn't expect you two to actually duck out of cover so you manage to get past them without too much-
<span class="mu-r">A sharp pain radiates from your thigh as you feel something pierce through it.</span> No time to think about it, you rush past the fake buildings but god, you can feel your body starting to fall apart from the strain it's taking.

You eventually find yourself half way through NO MAN'S LAND. Yet again, more fake buildings. The two of you duck behind another fake cardboard cut out building. You take a moment to stake out where you're at now. Another six cutouts. Two fake banks, one northwest and one northeast. Two apartment buildings, one southwest (where you're at) and southeast. Two restaurants, one east and west.
There's also a handful of caches scattered throughout the empty space between these six fake buildings. Two of them seem to have a lot of ammo, one has a buncha medical supplies (so that's where all of the trauma kits went), one has a fuck ton of drugs, and the other has useful gadgets like tasers, aerial drones and other trinkets.
While you were distracted, you only now notice the glint of someone's rifle from behind the northwest building. This is how it ends-
Kiara pokes around from behind cover with camera in hand. A flash of white light erupts from it, blinding whoever was aiming at you for long enough to make the shot go off. Holy fuck she just saved you from getting your brain splattered. You don't let this go to waste as you duck behind cover. The android gives you a thumbs up.
"NOT GOING TO LET YOU DIE ON MY WATCH! WE STILL GOT A STORY TO TELL" Kiara yells out so you can hear her over the overwhelming sounds of gunfire and distant explosions. "YOU HELPED ME, I HELP YOU. WE'RE COMRADES NOW. NOW. LEAD THE WAY."
[SEEKERS OF THE CITY] You two are children of the City. For a moment, you can feel your souls interlink together.
[ANOMALOUS ABILITIES] Do machines have souls?
[UNSTABLE] DO WE HAVE A SOUL?
[SEEKERS OF THE CITY] We don't really have the time to be nitpicky over that right now, do we?
"DON'T GOTTA SAY IT AGAIN!" You yell out to her. You take a moment to see where all of the hostile recruits are. Given the glints coming behind the cutouts, the only ones without anyone at them is the southeast one and the northwest one. Fuck. Surrounded.
