*POP*
the thing dies with a noise. the strange flickers die out, the object top goes dark, thus taking out the light in this little section.
not all of it actually, though. one of the strange bodies is holding some some kind of perfectly round ball made of a material that is literally radiating out yellow light. it was overshadowed while the object was...alive? but its at least keeping the little section within the walls here lit for now. actually, it might not do that forever though. in the weak light, cave moss is unnaturally eating away the remaining corpse flesh, and making hard-stuff turn funny colors then start becoming powdery.
based on just the feeling and smell, you did call in the help of the God between the trees. he appears to not like this strange world inside the walls though.
a few odd things outside this area come immediately to notice in the silence and near-darkness.

one, somewhere off to the west, you hear something make an noise, then loudly slam shut or down. more strange objects?

two, there's another lit area continuing on to the east with a lot of corpse stench coming from it, and its an area in particular that would take a moment to understand, or at least theorize about. you'd need to go over there and investigate directly it looks like.

third thing, and this is mostly the fact the light ball is forcing you to take a closer look, these corpses aren't like the bodies of tribe members.
they're wearing things, theyre holding things, but, instead of two arms, two legs, and a head, they have six legs like giant spiders, no arms, and have more bug carapace then skin in some places. they look pretty dirty, but considering theyre so rotted it took you a minute to even see them in detail, that's pretty excusable.
