>>5296184even in the modern day, one of the projects which have sprung up alot has been the idea of curing aging, since aging necessarily is the biggest contributor to our "decay" over time, the body being like a machine unable to repair every small detail, and therefor breaking down over time. since, i wanna stress this since it's not a notion everyone understands and is important for this discussion.
there is no one who "died of old age" there are people, who's bodily systems decayed enough as to that we in our current day couldn't have done anything to improve on their condition, and therefor let them pass away from this complication.
there is already, in this current day projects that have researched how to fight aging, and how to alter the human as to improve it's own ability to fight against destruction.
this includes, in the modern day:
Senescent cell repair/murder via senolytic drugs which get's rid of cells in the body which cannot reproduce by themselves anymore, or take away from our health by not doing their needed actions within the body, and thereby acting as freeloaders.
epigenetic markers, and how to extend the lifespan of telomeres(the protective layers on the end of our chromosomes) as to lessen cell generation decay.
the usage of pre-cryo frozen mother stem cells to either inject at a later date into the body to work as a rejuvenating the area with cells which have near to no telomere degradation.
organ replenishment via growing of organs using mother stem cells, aka using stem cells to make new versions of your own organs, majorly held back by the field of biological 3d printing.
cybernetic replacements of parts which otherwise already breaking down ones, like the mechanical heart which was revealed not even a month ago.
all of this, being my point that this is research which, while not in the public medicine yet, most of it is in development, and we SHOULD be seeing it released within the next 50 years.
so where is all of the advances in this world? i don't even even just talk about these ones which i have mentioned, since i don't know if the anon would be as autistic as me to obsess and know about this shit, but just because we might've began going more into industrial research for in space. have people just stopped caring about the future death of oneself in this universe? is there no cancer fonts equivalent to help research fight against aging in the year 2200?
